I love the game and graphics but man is this game grindy as hell. I don't mind grinding but man for a new player it's kind of a turn off, I played for 2 hours and the story barely budged because I was stuck on an endless struggle between 2 slimes, like F that, if I'm gonna struggle in a game at least make it enjoyable man. It's not bad, it's just mid I guess... Sorry if I'm ranting, but I had to close the game because I was actually stuck in that struggle loop for about 15 minutes ish, I guess Monster Sex scenes can be disabled but you can't toggle that mid battle, you can't even save mid fight. Early game is just not that enjoyable but it does get better.
I reccomend maybe add a cheat to make the game less grindy instead of having to use 3rd party software, to make the game more enjoyable.
I really love the game though, this is more of a rant after losing around 30 minutes of my progress... I was on day 17 but after going back to main menu because of the slime never ending struggle loop, it only saved to day 13, those 4 days were also me just grinding the heck out. just to buy every single item possible in the game before progressing story wise...
The solution to the problem is a simple visit to the Agranor library, which is available almost immediately. Sex with monsters is disabled in the settings, and characters in the game always give hints.
Therefore, the problem rather lies in the inattention of some players.
Visit to the library takes in-game time, I wish they just add a journal where I can just click on to see what weaknesses are mid-battle, it's not even inattention, it's the fact that there's so much unnecessary game features like why the need to upgrade wallet when your inventory can store unlimited amount, or having Nel as a mean to upgrade faster is just so boring, you can't even interact or hasten the game when she takes over it's an idle game at that point.
The problem in my original post is the fact that this game lacks meta features like actual skipping, the turn-based battle is imbalanced because "struggle" rarely works like it actually feels like you're being forced to be harassed, and enemies attack more often or it feels like it. What I intend to say is, the devs should make it when, I managed to free myself from struggle make it my turn not the enemies' turn. The speed feature is not ideal in this game, this ain't pokemon, there's a difference between a hard mechanic and a fun mechanic. It's a minor inconvenience but an inconvenience nonetheless. (I won't disable the monster sex feature, that's one of the few fun things in the game, and I know that there's items that help with this but it makes you work for it, like actual work.)
I also wish the "back" button actually backs my actions, because I'm so used to tapping that I tap on things accidentally. Like there's so much minor inconvenience in this game that the gameplay itself becomes a major inconvenience.
Keep in mind:
I don't hate the game and I don't hate grinding, but when all you do is continuously tap the same stuff, it's not a fun grind, if they truly want to add more features make it seem like a rogue lite. Or else make leveling up easier and more interactive, unlike that Nel takeover stuff that's boring asl, that's an idle gameplay not a turn-based gameplay.

I'm 20% in the game now because I've been playing for like 6 hours. This game right now is easily 7/10. It's worth playing but pleasure comes with patience.
I'm not trying to start comment section beef. But I just wanted to ask what Strats you're using, because I'm on day 58 & lvl 58 with 50% story finished. The Nel auto battle/mine system is so fast & takes the grind completely out of the game. I feel more like Kirito in SAO just OP asF more than anything. I the first ten days you meet Nel & progress that relationship to where you can use her to collect as much xp & coin as you want. You might be grinding really hard not realizing you can utilize that feature/storyline.
Also sharing just because I love the way the game works now & just wanted to share my vote for it stay this way to play & enjoy rather than it get some sort of overhaul & become something else.
The grind isn't really my problem, like I've stated, this game lacks meta features. I agree with you this game doesn't need some overhaul as when you progress through the game it does get easier, it's only hellish in the beginning.
By meta features, what I mean is better "skipping" my hands gets strained just so I could make some progress faster because some events are just automatic, but unnecessarily slow, and make the "back" button, reverts my decision, the UI is so small that I sometimes misclick and I have to endure an unskippable cutscene, also make the people save in-between the battles!

Town of Magic is already an enormous game full of content that I have already enjoyed immensely. Imagine my surprise when I came pack tot the itch/patreon page to find out you are still adding additional storylines & more content. I’m very excited to find this out. Thank you for making such a fun game to play. I play leisurely the first time & now on my second playthrough wanted to try finish in the least number of in game days. Currently 50% on day 58. I haven’t needed to play anything else the last several weeks. This game is really fun & engaging.
Go further along the plot, and periodically ask the fortuneteller about the captain and the red-haired swordswoman. It's a very linear give-and-take scenario.
You need to improve your friendships with all the characters, especially with Nel, Evie, Galiene. To do this, you can invite your friends to parties with monsters.
This might be just me, but t he submissiveness of the MC (Celica) is a little too much. So much that it becomes redundant and halts the fluidity of the game play.
This also annoys my sensibilities of not wanting anyone to take advantage of me, ever. It was a great start and most of the elements are good, but the MC being taken advantage too often annoys the hell out of me.
Also, The resulting max relationship is not even worth the effort making it more of a wasted effort. Perhaps in the next few updates, we can tone it down some.
The Story Arch should be the main quest. The side quest should be the submissive quest and would normally be an option for achievements and not affect the main quest, like most other games.
So, if you want to play the submissive fool, then you can choose the option to do the side quest. Wouldn't it be satisfying at some point where the MC says NO, and kicks the ghost, or demoness or whoever in the ... you know. :D

There are a lot of quests in the game now. Therefore, hints have been added to the game: a fortuneteller, a bartender, a library, as well as marks on the map. The bartender tells you about story quests, the fortune teller tells you about hidden quests, the library helps you learn the mechanics of the game, and markers on the map hint at available main quests.
This game is awesome, been following it nearly two years and it just keeps getting better. I've deleted my plays and restarted at least 4 times along the way. I'd like it if there was a gallery to pay proper respect to all the hard hours put into the animations lol. The character development is better then most games but celica is just too damn nice there is no way id let a suit of armor take my body for a stroll while I'm either asleep unconscious or nakey spirit just makes my skin crawl thinking about it lol. Speaking of possessions any plans to let that doll get in some comfortable situations in the future or any other of the characters celica can posses? Also I keep seeing updates to new hair designs and I keep expecting to find a hair stylist to let me alter her hair but maybe their just fixes. Anyway awesome game great job!

I may have just had a bit of a ultra instinct moment while playing the game here recently something a part of my body just made me pause the game and quick save before battle I don't know what it was about it but it was the one you fight the demoness and I knew if I didn't save I would suffer a heartbreak which I did moments later or they're finding out that we lose our slime girl armor I did not put all that effort into her for her to be ripped away from me like that hell no so I progressed through the game afterwards and basically backed out the game about saving so I basically repeated the same thing after I put it up that saved that saved me in a heartbreak I'm sorry for this weird comment I'm currently enjoying the company of a beautiful woman named Mary Jane
I was regarding the moment that you fight the demon woman and you end up losing Violet in the process I was trying to say I saved right before I went into that cut scene and my body was screaming at me to save before I initiate the cutting and before I knew it I had already got to the same screen and it was already in the process of pressing save for I knew what happened it was like I had a sixth sense telling me that you're going to screw up massively if you don't save right here and I had also progressed after losing Violet the slime girl or the mimic slime if you want to be technical about it so I knew what to expect and what I needed to do after I loaded up the save I had made
you don't permenantly lose the slim armor, you just need to defeat the demonless, defeating her gives you your armor back plus grants you a dark spell.
I had a feeling about that I had managed to get her health down by 75+% on my second time fighting her I don't know how but for the most part I've just been figuring things out on my own hell last night on my first try I'd beat a mimic chest oh and speaking of mimic chests there is an item I got from a mystery box it's something electric elemental item if you know where it goes or what it does please tell me and if I have any other further questions please go easy on me I do suffer from permanent brain damage making explaining and talking t o other people
Understanding a lot of the events requires listening carefully to what the characters say. But this could be difficult even for someone who doesn't have brain damage. The fortuneteller may be a good help. I can say from experience that throughout this game I never faced any bad turning point other than a game over from health depletion. Many characters are cruel, but they always turn out to be nice on some level. The game makes Celica a glutton for abuse.
P.S.: If you need help defeating the demoness, go visit the hot springs. There is an intricate set of events there but eventually you can gain powerful magic which will make her a pushover in comparison.

Nel herself offers some training, and additional training with Nel can be accessed via interactions with Glace and Vivi. You can also visit the Mystic Fox Shrine at the Hot Springs in order to harden your body outside of Nel's control.

Dev Suggestion: In the case that the player has met the mysterious bee again without Miriam but has not planted the beans, the Fortune Teller could have a relationship hint for unknown character which says something like "Make magic happen by planting something special at Willow's End."
Someone else said I had found something they didn't and I was thinking if they loaded my save and noticed something new, what could it be other than the new Bee area? Which got me thinking maybe a lot of people miss that one. I solved it as soon as I saw it but I also kept reflecting on every old item I had sitting in my inventory without a use yet (good strategy when trying to find the last few secrets) and I am also highly familiar with the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and variations/references. I think the average player might be a lot more likely to have no idea what to do there and move on.

Yes, the main problem with the lack of the type of relationship you specified is the small number of people who want to see such relationships in the game. see, I think the reason it now mostly has supporters of F/F is because thats what the author decided to focus on for most part. Ik plenty of people who gave up on the patreon because it drifted away from M/F, but I’m pretty sure if the author decided to focus more on it there will be new fans and the audience it appeals to will be broader.

The grind isn't really my problem, like I've stated, this game lacks meta features. I agree with you this game doesn't need some overhaul as when you progress through the game it does get easier, it's only hellish in the beginning.
By meta features, what I mean is better "skipping" my hands gets strained just so I could make some progress faster because some events are just automatic, but unnecessarily slow, and make the "back" button, reverts my decision, the UI is so small that I sometimes misclick and I have to endure an unskippable cutscene, also make the people save in-between the battles!

This might be just me, but t he submissiveness of the MC (Celica) is a little too much. So much that it becomes redundant and halts the fluidity of the game play.

Understanding a lot of the events requires listening carefully to what the characters say. But this could be difficult even for someone who doesn't have brain damage. The fortuneteller may be a good help. I can say from experience that throughout this game I never faced any bad turning point other than a game over from health depletion. Many characters are cruel, but they always turn out to be nice on some level. The game makes Celica a glutton for abuse.
P.S.: If you need help defeating the demoness, go visit the hot springs. There is an intricate set of events there but eventually you can gain powerful magic which will make her a pushover in comparison.

Nel herself offers some training, and additional training with Nel can be accessed via interactions with Glace and Vivi. You can also visit the Mystic Fox Shrine at the Hot Springs in order to harden your body outside of Nel's control.

Dev Suggestion: In the case that the player has met the mysterious bee again without Miriam but has not planted the beans, the Fortune Teller could have a relationship hint for unknown character which says something like "Make magic happen by planting something special at Willow's End."

Someone else said I had found something they didn't and I was thinking if they loaded my save and noticed something new, what could it be other than the new Bee area? Which got me thinking maybe a lot of people miss that one. I solved it as soon as I saw it but I also kept reflecting on every old item I had sitting in my inventory without a use yet (good strategy when trying to find the last few secrets) and I am also highly familiar with the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and variations/references. Some events in the game do not occur if the player does not develop Celica's skills sufficiently.
Therefore, it is important to buy/find items and use them. Tailor also depends on the number of skill items learned.
